The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as Chief and program specialist, organizing directing, and exercising second level supervisory control over multiple supervisory employees within the Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron's Operations Engineering Element, and assist in oversight of the Operations Flight when the Operations Flight Deputy is absence.

Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Operations Engineering Element. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Administers and maintains the Sustainment Management System (SMS) program.

Represents 27th Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Directs the preparation, management, execution, and fiscal oversight of the installation's facilities' appropriated (APF) budget, asset management programs, material acquisition programs, service contracts, and customer service program in support of engineering/operations planning and execution. Communicates and coordinates functional issues with higher headquarters, regulatory agencies, other installation units, community officials, etc.
