The primary purpose of this position is: To determine the legally applicable and most economical rates and routes for shipment of freight in accordance with published tariffs.

Plans and carries out shipping arrangements. Determines freight classification for a variety of unusual and standard items, some of which have no recorded or published classifications. Conducts pre- and post-audits and maintains shipping documentation.

Provides technical guidance and advice on problems in all phases of outbound/inbound shipping. Manages the Automated Commercial Payment and Accounting Process that integrates the PowerTrack® payment process with DoD's finance and accounting processes.
