Recreation Aid (Automotive)

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Auto Hobby Shop at Cannon Air Force Base. This position is Flex.

Assists in the operation of the Auto Hobby Shop. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Sets up areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; schedules appointments; notifies customer of schedule changes; arranges for equipment or tools, charging them out to customers and checking them for condition on their return; checks the established safety system of the facility, tools, and equipment; posts announcements of scheduled activities and answers inquiries about item, place, transportation or other matters related to activities scheduled; takes inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment; and helps with group activities which require more than one staff monitor, performing specifically assigned tasks. Accepts payment for various service and use fees and damages to, or loss of, tools.

Checks and empties trash cans in the shop and car wash areas; replaces bags/liners; cleans inside of trash cans as needed. Cleans car wash area to include clearing away all paper, litter, and debris, i.e. sand, dirt, cigarette butts, mud, grass. May operate wheel balance and wheel removing equipment and/or assist customers with proper operation of automotive flits.
