Maintenance Worker

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoW Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Maintenance Worker for the park/project office to which assigned. The maintenance staff operates and maintains one or more flood control dams.

Relocation and recruitment incentives may be offered to highly qualified candidates.

Perform a variety of maintenance, repair and operational duties for the park office to which assigned.

Maintain and repair equipment such as, hydraulic gates, hoists, hangers, cranes, elevators, sump pumps, water systems pumps, chlorinators and stand-by generators.

Inspect circuit breakers and fuses.

Weld similar metal components together to fabricate or repair equipment. Use gas welding, brazing or arc welding.

Carpentry: Construct, install, repair or modify items and structures.

Collect humidity, temperature and wind velocity readings from weather instruments.

Operate a variety of vehicles and vessels.
