Job description

This solicitation is utilizing the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: You will lead a crew or personally carry out maintenance and repair tasks in a variety of trades and crafts.

You will function as a working leader (usually over three to seven employees) while performing nonsupervisory duties of the same type as those being led.

Use skilled techniques to construct, install, repair, and modify wood and wood substitute structures and items requiring close tolerance fit and structural soundness.

Apply coatings by any of the accepted methods of the trade using coating materials that are prepared in a special as well as common ways, and by applying coating techniques that assure surfaces have a smooth-textured and decorative appearance.

Maintain, repair, or construct a variety of structures and surfaces of brick, block, stone, and other related materials. Lay whole brick, block, and stone according to accepted trade practices.

Construct, maintain, and repair roads, parking areas, walkways, drainage ditches, basins, curbs, etc.

Remove locking devices from doors, desks, etc. Remove broken keys from keyways, disassemble items and perform visual checks to detect worn and damaged parts.

Occasionally operate five and ten ton dump trucks and other heavy equipment as required. May operate pick-up trucks and passenger vehicles.

Small Craft Operating: On a regular and recurring basis, operate Class 2 39' boat when operating "For Hire" on navigable waters which are regulated by the Coast Guard, requiring a 25 Ton Master License Near Coastal.

Use a truck to pull a boat. Deployable Tactical Operations System (DTOS) vehicles stored at Bryte Yard may also be driven.
