FUL - Hydrologic Technician

You will serve as a FUL - Hydrologic Technician This position performs technical work in support of professional or technical employees engaged in hydrologic data collection activities. Pay will vary based on grade level and/or duty location for which you're selected. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

The correct duty station should be Austin, Texas, located at 1505 Ferguson Lane, Austin, Texas 78754 please apply if you are considering the Austin, Texas duty station.** Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Surface Water: Performs routine measurements of stage and discharge, applying various methods and using different equipment depending upon the field conditions. Ground Water: Performs water-level and discharge measurements from wells and springs, noting various field conditions. Water Quality: Considering field conditions, selects from a variety of well-established procedures to perform routine field water-quality measurements such as water temperature, specific conductance, pH, dissolved oxygen, and alkalinity. Instrumentation: Installs, maintains, services and troubleshoots a variety of sensing, recording and communications equipment and instrumentation.

Data Management: Enters, retrieves, and edits surface, ground and water-quality data using a variety of software programs, spreadsheets, and graphics software. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
