Job description

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

This Registered Nurse - Outpatient Surgical Float position is located in Nursing, Specialty Care Service at the Togus location. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week. Duties include but are not limited to: Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex specialty care.

Provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management. Collaborates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of policies, procedures, and/or guidelines. Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for specialty care outpatients.

This nurse integrates specialty care knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex outpatient situations. Validates understanding of the rationale for specialty care processes and decisions. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care.

Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage competing priorities. Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
