Job description

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

VA Careers - Psychologist: https://youtube.com/embed/77qHlLw9Xck Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services, including assessment, and uses the most appropriate techniques to provide quality care, with particular attention to patients with pain conditions, co-morbid medical problems, and co-morbid substance use disorders Provides a full range of psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family psychotherapies, as well as caregiver stress management for patients with pain conditions and co morbid substance use disorders Works collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team within the Comprehensive Pain Clinic Provides consultation to professional staff within the Boise VAMC system and to community providers concerning clinical assessment and appropriate treatment for patients with chronic pain, and coordinates services with other healthcare programs Assists in the program design, development, and implementation of procedures for the Comprehensive Pain Clinic Complies with all medical record documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g., entering diagnostic and procedure codes). Learn more Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Functional Statement #: 000000 Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized Preferred Experience: The psychologist assigned should possess skills and experience in functional assessment and integrated/collaborative treatments, evidence­based psychotherapy for chronic pain, and bio-behavioral interactions. The psychologist applies advanced psychological diagnostic methods and intervention strategies to a full range of patient problems in their work setting, with a focus on maximizing function and life satisfaction and reframing the patient's experience of pain. The incumbent has advanced knowledge of psychological diagnosis, intervention, and behavioral health and pain management strategies which qualify them to provide guidance and consultation to professionals representing a variety of disciplines.
