Job description

This vacancy is for a GS-0801-12, Supervisory General engineer located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE BORINQUEN FACILITIES ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT -F in AGUADILLA, Puerto Rico. NOTE: There is a 2.81% (of basic pay) Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) authorized for this position location. Please see Nonforeign Area Cost-of-Living Allowances for more information.

With PCS entitlement comes the eligibility for enrollment into the DoDEA School.

You will serve as a Supervisory General engineer and be responsible for coordinating the facilities programs, design, construction, preventive and corrective maintenance for all Coast Guard engineering activities at U.S. Coast Guard Base Borinquen. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Leads team of engineers as the Assistant Department Head and first line supervisor for employees of the department.

Responsible for Environmental Protection in compliance with federal and state regulations Acts as technical project authority for all corrective, operational, and deferred maintenance Completes facilities inspections and maintenance QA. Individual Occupational Requirements Basic Requirements: Responsible for budget, funding management and execution. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position.

Required to obtain a Contractor Officer Representative (COR/COTR) certification (40-hour course) and maintain certification annually.
