This vacancy is for a GS - 0080 - 12, Security Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, MIFC PAC SECURITY and FASSO BRANCH in ALAMEDA, California. This is a temporary appointment not to exceed 9/30/2027. However, an extension is possible up to 2 years.
You will serve as a Security Specialist and be responsible for management of Coast Guard Pacifica Area Intelligence Division Sensitive Compartmented Information facility (SCIF). Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Analyzing and resolving personnel security problems with investigation, such as conflicting or insufficient data, evidence, or testimony.
Developing and performing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) indoctrinations and education briefings for qualified individuals of activities serve their Reserve Units, and associated contractors. Reviewing plans for proposed or new projects to assure the presence of adequate planning for information security and other controls. Inspecting, analyzing, and evaluating security systems.
Studying and analyzing problems areas or situations identified through inspections and develops appropriate controls.
