Job description

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of the Administrator (OA), Chief Workforce Strategist (CWS). As a Special Assistant, GS-0301-14, you will provide assistance to the Chief Workforce Strategist to support and advance a broad range of activities that bear directly on the CWS' responsibility as the agency principal steward of the CMS-wide workforce strategy and related programs.

Provide skilled operational and programmatic support to the CWS, exercising independent judgement across a broad range of administrative, coordination, and program management responsibilities.

Identify and resolve complex program management problems affecting workforce strategy operations, recommending practical solutions and maintaining systems and processes supporting the effective functioning of the CWS's portfolio.

Lead and coordinate special assignments involving sensitive or confidential programmatic, administrative, and human resource matters.

Coordinate projects and tasks within OA related to enterprise workforce strategy, human capital initiatives, and organizational effectiveness.

Act as the main liaison to facilitate effective communication between the CWS and other senior leaders, management, and staff both within OA and externally.
