Medical Support Assistant (PRC)

This position is located in the Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) department at the Pawnee Indian Health Clinic in Pawnee, Oklahoma. The purpose of this position is to provide support services and assistance by performing medical support assistance duties, record keeping and miscellaneous clerical support duties associated with beneficiaries. This position reports to the Supervisory Health System Specialist.

A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Reviews patient information to help determine eligibility for care, rules and regulations, the service delivery areas, tribal membership, and residence. Supports staff in examining alternate resources for patients under the program and screens for patient eligibility through the Medicare, Medicaid, Vocational Rehabilitation, and V.A., private insurance or other third-party programs. Prepares responses and routine correspondence and compile information concerning contract services for submission to patients.

Provides customer services to patients and visitors, answers inquiries or addresses requests, and directs them to the appropriate personnel. Assists staff with follow ups to collect patient medical information, patient visits, and discharge dates to complete medical referrals and decision of payments.
