Custodial Worker

About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the JBER, Fisher House. Regular Full-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 35 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. I. Cleans guest rooms after each check out, exchanges bed linen after each check out. Exchanges clean for dirty guest towels as needed, exchanges bed spreads as required.

Cleans, disinfects, sanities, and deodorizes toilet bowls, sinks, medicine cabinets, mirrors, bathtubs or shower stalls, trash cans, and floors. 2. Washes walls, windows inside and out, dusts vents, cleans pictures, blinds, and partitions using stepladders when necessary.

Replaces draperies and hooks. Dusts, waxes, and polishes all furnishing, ledges, wood work, light fixtures, and other dust collecting surfaces. May be required to move furniture such as chairs or tables in order to clean under or around and replaces burned out light bulbs using a ladder.

Vacuums and spots cleans carpeted floors and upholstery with the use of a spray bottle. Mops floors in main living areas and hallways using appropriate supplies and cleaner. 3.

Maintains storerooms and other common areas in a clean and orderly condition. Maintains established stock level of cleaning supplies and equipment needed to do work. Maintains daily established stock level of room condiments in guest rooms and replenishes room information packages.

Maintains established stock level of linens and towels. 4. Cleans kitchen area when required as follows: disassembles stove, refrigerator, and other kitchen appliances, cleans interior with cleaning compound, reassembles and polishes exterior with proper polish; washes cooking and eating utensils; and washes exterior and interior of cabinets.
