Job description

The role involves managing health informatics operations, optimizing workflows, and advising leadership on policies and improvements. It includes budget and contract management, overseeing technology procurement, and resource allocation. The position also leads project implementation, ensures system efficiency, and supports clinical and administrative staff.

Additionally, it addresses patient concerns and advocates for the service, ensuring effective and efficient health informatics support.

Operational Management (35%) Advises on, plans, develops, and evaluates administrative processes in health informatics. Manages workflow processes, staffing, system utilization, and resource scheduling. Analyzes productivity data, develops improvement plans, and supports strategic planning.

Advises senior management on program and policy impacts. Represents the service in meetings and committees, advocating for health informatics. Conducts research on programs, system accessibility, and contract management. Serves as the Service Level Advocate for patient concerns related to health informatics. Perform other related duties assigned.

Contract and Budget Management (35%) Acts as Contracting Officer Representative for health informatics contracts. Prepares contract specifications, manages modifications, and ensures proper invoicing. Performs cost analysis, makes budget recommendations, and monitors resources.

Manages inventory, procurement, and technology lifecycle. Develops resource allocation plans, monitors expenditures, and ensures fiscal compliance. Perform other related duties assigned.

Project Management (30%) Oversees the implementation of new or modified health informatics programs and technologies. Coordinates with vendors and academic partners. Monitors program performance, resource deployment, and system capacity.

Supports clinical and administrative staff in optimizing operational efficiency and data integrity. Addresses technical issues like connectivity and system access. Perform other related duties assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am -4pm Compressed/Flexible: Not Available Telework: Ad-Hoc - This position is authorized for telework but has not been authorized as virtual or remote (i.e., must be able to work at the location the position is being announced for). VA supports the use of telework to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies.
