As a Supervisory Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Coordinator at the GS-0301-14, you will be part of the Office of Field Programs, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for providing supervision, expert guidance, and coordination of a unified ADR and mediation program. This includes overseeing program operations, ensuring consistent application of ADR principles, and personally conducting mediations, as required.
Duties may include the performance, and supervision of the following: Counsels potential mediation participants and their representatives regarding mediation as an alternative to an administrative EEOC investigation or other formal procedures.
Mediates employment disputes alleging violations of the laws the EEOC enforces, including disputes that may include complex issues requiring application of new solutions or innovative techniques.
Uses a variety of alternative dispute resolution techniques. Facilitates party interaction and provides parties with resolution options to bring about successful resolution.
Exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity to win cooperation of participants or develop new approaches or solutions to problems where accepted methods and techniques have been challenged.
Establishes a high degree of acceptability to the parties involved, particularly when issues are sensitive or participants are resistant to compromise.
Drafts and revises, as necessary, settlement agreements and other case resolution documents, ensures appropriate documentation in the official charge system, and submits factual and timely mediation reports.
Mediates disputes that may include highly complex and complicated issues. In some cases, mediations may require application of new solutions or innovative techniques.
