Job description

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.

As the Safety and Occupational Health Manager for the Grand Coulee Power Office, major duties include (and not limited to): Planning, directing, and evaluating a comprehensive Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) program supporting high-risk hydropower, construction, and maintenance operations. Serving as the primary technical advisor to senior leadership on safety and occupational health, environmental compliance, risk management, and corresponding policy objectives. Supervising and leading a multidisciplinary team of safety and occupational health specialists, and industrial hygiene and environmental specialists to ensure effective SOH program implementation and personnel development.

Developing and maintaining a strong and positive safety and environmental culture across the project. Reviewing and evaluating work plans, contracts, and engineering designs to ensure integration of safety and environmental requirements. Overseeing operations centered around industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and behavioral-based safety programs to identify hazards, reduce risks, and ensure regulatory compliance in promoting workplace safety.

Leading accident and incident investigations and assesses risk factors; implementing corrective actions to improve safety performance and prevent reoccurrences. Developing metrics and reportable figures and briefing the GCPO manager on a regular basis. Performing other related duties as assigned within this job classification.
