Job description

This vacancy is for a Program Analyst in the Bureau of Industry and Security within the Department of Commerce.

As a Program Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Preparing and reviewing funding allocations for effective program implementation of resources. Developing monthly spend plans for salaries and benefits, travel, and overseas travel and related entitlements. Monitoring and tracking obligations and expenditures of allocated resources by extracting and analyzing financial reports.

Making recommendations to the Director of Budget and Finance regarding funding realignments and/or funding adjustments. Developing cost-benefit analysis of proposed budgetary and program actions and advising Department officials and program managers of the most cost-effective courses of action. Serving as the sole point of contact between contacts within BIS to provide monthly financial status update.
