Practical Nurse (Inpatient)

About the Position: Position is located within the Directorate of Nursing, Pediatric Unit at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Provide nursing care to patients in the inpatient setting with a variety of medical conditions, performing tasks such as recording vital signs, monitoring patient conditions, and reporting significant findings to the supervising nurse or physician.

Administer prescribed medications with increased independence, ensuring proper patient dosages, routes, and times are followed.

Assist in performing and managing medical procedures, such as wound care, catheterizations, and respiratory therapies, under the guidance of a registered nurse or licensed medical practitioner

Provide patient and family education tailored to specific medical conditions, treatment plans, and recovery goals.

Assist patients with mobility, hygiene, and nutritional needs to promote comfort and recovery.

Assist the physician with various examinations and diagnostic procedures.
