Job description

These positions will be at the Whiteriver Indian Hospital located in Whiteriver, AZ and the Hopi Health Care Center located in Polacca, AZ. The incumbents will serve as House Supervisor, providing clinical leadership and the responsibilities include overseeing hospital operations, delivering patient care to ensure quality and continuity of care during non-administrative hours. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R.

37.5 (2021).

Makes recommendations and assists with the development of program goals, and develops fiscal year plans, which have substantial and significant impact in the overall administration of the nursing program. Ensures direct care nursing staff demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive nursing care appropriate to the age of the patients served in all clinical areas of the facility.

Ensures staff have demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span; possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient' s status; and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to patient' s age- specific needs by the following groups: infant, toddlers, adolescence, adult, obstetric and geriatrics. Clinical Provides direct patient care when needed and is able to provide support to each nursing unit in the areas of clinical nursing care. Provides specialized nursing care to patients in a ward of a hospital with injuries, illnesses or attitudes that require adaptation of established nursing procedures.

Serves as role model and teacher for experienced and fully trained nurses in providing care to patients assigned because of their special needs, for example, ulcer patients who are not responding to usual treatment.
