Medical Support Assistant (OPD)

Two (2) Permanent Medical Support Assistant positions to be filled in the Nursing Services, Outpatient Department at Whiteriver Service Unit, in Whiteriver, Arizona. The purpose of the position is to provide medical, clerical support required in the care and treatment provided to the patients. The incumbent will will be supervised by to the Nursing Supervisor of Outpatient Department. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R.

37.5 (2021).

Courteously assist with services, outpatient appointments, and transfer telephone calls to appropriate staff. Provide clerical duties, electronically send appointments, request charts, and provide health summaries.

Maintain and order supplies for assigned work station, ensure supplies are readily available for services rendered. Promotes safety and risk management initiatives for the unit to help ensure the safety of patients, visitor and staff. Complies with universal precautions and infection control guideline.
