Dentist (Endodontics)

This position is located at the Whiteriver Service Unit under Medical Services, Dental Department, in Whiteriver, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to serve as a clinical specialist in Endodontics to provide dental service to the designated population in accordance with the Indian Health Service policies. Diagnostic by use of patient history, radiographs, examinations, diagnostic models, and other appropriate tests.

Endodontic restoration of teeth having suffered severe and rampant caries, periodontal disease, and trauma to the oral cavity and supporting structures. Provides emergency services including the treatment of trauma, pain and infection. Participate in the development and implementation of continuing education courses for the dental program.

Provide technical guidance for the service unit dentists in the development and oepration of direct and contract endodontic programs. This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements.
