This vacancy is for a WG - 4749-10,Maintenance Mechanic located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CG ACADEMY PUBLIC WORKS SECTION in NEW LONDON, Connecticut.

You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic, WG-4749-10 and be responsible for preventative, emergency, and routine service work as a Maintenance Mechanic in refrigeration, heating ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing trades throughout the grounds. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Logging expenditures of time and materials; and scheduling, accomplishing, and recording completion of work tasks.

Following established preventative maintenance schedules and manufactures maintenance instructions. Repairing and maintaining large air conditioning systems that performs a variety of functions including heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, cleaning, filtering, and circulating. Installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing utility supply and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil and gas distribution systems and water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, and showers. Maintaining, repairing, and installing as necessary water distribution systems and components.
