We provide other agencies with innovative services for the printing, publishing, storage, and distribution of digital content. This position is part of the Library Services and Content Management, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
Performs a variety of professional tasks associated with metadata creation and enhancements, improving automated processes, and writing computer scripts and programs for new metadata processes.
Works closely with the Metadata Initiatives Team Manager, team members, and other staff on the development and implementation of new metadata policies and workflows and new metadata products, services, and tools.
Analyzes varied and evolving issues that require technical knowledge across a wide range of fields and often involve issues of substance related to the Federal Depository Library Program and the Cataloging and Indexing Program.
Plays a role in the success of GPO's information dissemination services to Federal depository libraries, agencies, and to the public, and their assistance in this work affects the policies and the acceptance of these programs by key customers.
Performs amidst a very fluid and sensitive policy backdrop that merges GPO capabilities, the requirements of public and client agencies, leading-edge information technology, and emerging federal information policy.
