Job description

As the Lead, Program Manager within the Planning, Programming, and Environmental Branch you will lead the programming team and provide program management, oversight and authority for one or more programs in a multi-state region. As a Lead Program Manager, you will: Develop and implement strategic plans in support of achieving the program objectives. Develop procedures, implement program responsibilities, and monitor the program including the partner agency's progress on the projects. Conduct regular meetings with internal staff and leadership representatives from partner agencies to determine program status and progress of work accomplished, and to ascertain appropriate action required to maintain or improve program management. Provide advice and assistance to employees and supervisors and other Federal agency personnel concerning a broad range and variety of program matters including request for funds, fund availability, and resolution of funding problems. Prepare status reports and coordinate future funding needs requested by Congress and/or partner agencies for legislative action.

The ideal candidate(s) aspires to lead, mentor, and professionally develop others and has experience: Demonstrating leadership within a Programming Team. Effectively communicate within a team, externally with partner agencies, and internally other teams. Leading individuals and teams from diverse technical and professional backgrounds.

Handling multiple high priority tasks simultaneously. Developing long-term relationships with internal staff and partner agencies. Managing programs, including a comprehensive knowledge of programming techniques and budgeting/financial regulations and processes.
