Interdisciplinary Architect/Engineer (Construction Manager)

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Facilities Modification (NWMM) or Facilities Sustainment (NWMS), Facilities Planning and Projects (NWM), Facilities and Workplace Services (NW), Chief Administrative Office (N). A successful candidate in the Interdisciplinary Architect/Engineer (Construction Manager) position will serve as a Construction Manager, providing leadership and technical expertise for the development and implementation of facilities program activities.

This position is located in Portland, OR which boasts huge spans of amazing trees, foliage, landscape, and everywhere you look you can appreciate beautiful greenery! It is known as the most bike-friendly city in America, has a train system that greets you at the airport spanning across the city, and is home to the Portland International Rose Garden, the oldest in the country! Portland is the one place where you will find lively festivals, energetic music, mouthwatering food, and for you basketball fans, the Portland Trail Blazers are a 7 minute walk from the HQs building!

As an Interdisciplinary Architect/Engineer (Construction Manager), you will: Manage multiple, highly complex facility construction projects from the planning phase through completion, ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget. Serve as the lead construction subject matter expert, providing technical consultation to internal teams, external stakeholders, and various legal jurisdictions.

Develop and implement contracting strategies and oversee resident engineers, quality assurance representatives, and other construction support staff for each project. Provide technical expertise to the Contracting Officer to evaluate and negotiate contract awards, modifications, and payment recommendations. Monitor construction project activities through site visits and direct communication to ensure work conforms to contract specifications and safety standards.

Ensure all project deliverables, financial processes, and purchasing actions comply with agency policies and lead continuous improvement efforts by documenting lessons learned.
