The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to health care management officials by analyzing, evaluating, advising on and/or coordinating health care delivery systems and operations. Preferred candidates will have experience supporting large-scale electronic record implementation or health IT transformation initiatives within a hospital, health care system, or large scale organization.
Facilitates the analysis of medical center change readiness, creates gap analysis, and articulates the impact of Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) on workflow. Works with the medical center Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Informatics Steering Committee staff, and Integrated Clinical Community (ICC) leadership and staff to apply a structured methodology to lead Health Care System (HCS) level change management activities during the (EHRM) transformation. Develops and prepares internal instructions, guidelines, etc. concerning EHRM and recommends required policy changes and procedural adjustments to ensure proper and adequate accomplishment of deployment program goals and objectives. Participates in decisions and policy making with the medical center director while sharing in the responsibility for management actions/outcomes regarding initiatives, involvement in operations and coordinating intra and inter-ICC activities.
Provides advisory services to all levels of medical center management regarding the requirements and implications of the EHRM deployment. Promotes collaborative working relationships, uses creative problem solving, and practices flexibility and creativity. Assesses the impact of change on the motivation of all groups involved in EHRM activities.
Acts as a resource person in planning, reviewing, or revising policies and procedures that impact the EHRM deployment. Leads training and facilitation of performance improvement teams, the use of relevant tools and statistical processes and the use of VHA databases; Establishes effective relationships within the VISN and HCS through participation in organizational and committee structures. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 A.M.
