Job description

You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER AIRCRAFT DIVISION, SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

You will develop and review program technical and mission documentation, providing authoritative input and advice on all engineering and technical issues and ensuring engineering requirements are met.

You will participate in the development and design of new systems by assessing if available or imminent technology is sufficient to meet requirements or system concepts are applicable to fleet operational requirements.

You will formulate engineering design concepts and performance requirements which provide the basis for overall technical and engineering planning for the assigned system.

You will maintain knowledge of current arid future capabilities, problems and demands upon the system (s) and provides overall technical planning for development, engineering, and evaluation of programs.

You will be responsible for major system development or the direction of technology-based research which has the highest significance to the agency's needs.

You will assign work by providing administrative and policy direction in terms of broadly defined missions or functions of the agency.

You will be responsible for defining objectives; interpreting policies and determining their effect on program needs; independently carrying out work to be done; and serving as a technical authority.
