Job description

The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System is recruiting for (1) Equal Employment Specialist within the Office of the Executive Director. The incumbent will assist the EEO Manager in planning, developing, administering, evaluating, and advising on the GLAs internal equal employment opportunity program.

Duties may include but are not limited to: Responsible for providing a wide range of administrative and technical support while performing a variety of duties to ensure that all EEO Program activities are administered and implemented to the Medical Center leadership, staff and employees. Reviews and implements projects that impact the operations of the field facility, determines program effectiveness through periodic assessment. Serve as the GLA Harassment Prevention Program Coordinator by functioning as the point of contact for all allegations of harassment for the facility.

Provides guidance to managers and supervisors regarding allegations of harassment, sexual harassment and bullying. Develops and presents training programs and provides advice regarding the broad range of EEO issues impacting the organization. Provides advice to managers and supervisors on how provided services can assist in accomplishing their mission and programs.

Provides broad program support and administrative responsibilities such as coordinating and planning the logistics for meetings, training and performing all other related duties associated with the EEO Program. Drafts Equal Employment Opportunity Program Status Report, Federal Equal Opportunity Recruitment Program (FEORP) Report, Disabled Veterans Affirmative Action Plan (DVAAP) Report and other EEO reports as required.
