The Lead Medical Support Assistant supports the operations of Medical Service by performing essential administrative functions and clerical tasks as needed. The incumbent serves as the patient scheduling coordinator and constantly communicates with patients, prioritizing requested appointments and determining correct scheduling protocols.
Major duties include but are not limited to: Monitors and makes work assignments, provides input on performance, resolves daily workplace issues and maintains efficient workflow. Assures coverage of all areas of responsibility Conducts ongoing reviews to ensure quality of work including ensuring accurate and timely scheduling of appointments Provides guidance to staff members to include changes in policies and procedures Distributes and balances workload Creates and maintains employee work schedules Orients and provides on-the-job training for new and current employees, ensuring all training requirements are met Organizes the work structure of his/her assigned areas Acts as liaison between MSA and staff in order to resolve day to day conflicts Provides briefings, orientations, staff development and training Participates in planning and problem resolutions through multi-disciplinary program meetings Schedules outpatient clinic appointments and completes the mandatory national and local training requirements for the outpatient scheduling process Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
