The Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting. Identifies and institutes preventive and treatment measure and monitors results of wound care delivered. NOTE: The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this position.

Major Duties include, but are not limited to: Will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization consultation. Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising the management of patients/residents with acute and chronic wounds across clinical practice settings. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
Provide colleagues with useful tools to improve wound care knowledge, assessment, and management skills. Analyzes resources available to staff and identifies risk areas, including quality metrics, supplies, equipment, availability of data and information to foster a safe and supportive environment for staff learning, educational and professional development. Provides evaluation of the effectiveness of resources, equipment, supplies, and specialty advanced therapies currently in use and being considered for future use for wound assessment and management (and may include ostomy and continence care).
Evaluates practice in an ongoing process, based on best evidence. Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Participates in activities and strategies to sustain evidence based- practice.
Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments. All other duties as assigned.
