Job description

The Battle Creek VA Medical Center is recruiting for a Registered Nurse Float to serve with in the Resource Pool Acute Care.

Duties include but not limited to: Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement. Provides competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the setting.

Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients in multiple care units. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components. Recognizes ethical issues related to professional nursing practice and behaves in an appropriate manner through observance of established policies and ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.

Treats all patients, families and other caregivers with dignity and respect incorporating knowledge, values, and beliefs into nursing care delivery without judgement or discrimination. Demonstrates the ability to communicate confidently with members of the healthcare team and demonstrate professional behaviors that promotes cooperation and teamwork.
