Prescription Eyeglass Maker Supervisor (Optics Factory Foreman)

The Optics Factory Foreman is located in the UNICOR Optics Factory at the Federal Correctional Complex, Butner, North Carolina. He/she serves under the direction of the Optics Factory Manager. Responsible for the supervision of inmate workers assigned to the Optics Factory.

Responsible for training, motivating, and directing an inmate work detail engaged in the production of various types of prescription eyewear, non-prescription eyewear, and safety goggles in accordance with the Bureau of Prisons' policy. Provides technical assistance to those agencies ordering the eyewear. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.

The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
