Physician Assistant

About the Position: This position is located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center with the Director for Surgery Department of Orthopedics. Hours of operation: Monday- Friday 0730 - 1600. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Perform initial patient work-up and assessment of patient’s care and treatment.

Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnosis and to establish a working diagnosis.

Determine the need for and order routine laboratory tests, imaging studies (to include x-rays, MRIs, bone scans, CT scans and/or other diagnostic imaging technology) and is able to interpret the results.

Work collaboratively with the physician in patient management evaluation and revision of therapeutic plans.

Participate with the attending physician and other medical staff in interpreting and evaluating continuing changes in direct patient care.
