Job description

You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator in the Public Works Division Utilities Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE.

You will apply 40,000 to 60,000 gallons per day of Class A wastewater residuals to approximately 3,000 acres of grasses and forested application areas, utilizing 57 miles of roads and trails.

You will load liquid biosolids from a 2.25 million gallon storage tank into a 6,000 gallon tractor and trailer tankers using large centrifugal chopper transfer pumps.

You will utilize previously installed color-coded markers to determine exact application areas that are to be sprayed and identify the areas that cannot be utilized due to buffer and set back requirements or other restrictions.

You will adjust application vehicle speeds to obtain the correct application rate needed that ensures compliance with regulations and protection of surface groundwater.

You will report defects in vehicles operation, accidents, damage or traffic violations.

You will assist in the application site preparation by developing detailed maps of application area using Global Positioning System and installing color-coded markers that will delineate exact areas to be used for biosolid operation.
