IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/NETWORK)

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

It is located in the DISA - FE/Special Services/Infrastructure Office.

Prepares acquisition, management, implementation, and transition plans for a wide range of assigned network IT management and projects at DISA J6 C4E and supported commands.

Remain abreast of external infrastructure designs and development activities. Closely monitors progress and follow-on capabilities and prepare plans to incorporate improvements into existing system architecture.

Takes broadly-defined goals from such sources as the system specification or ill-defined user requirements, compare them to the command's mission, current system design and state-of-the-art technology, and translate them into actionable tasks.

Provides technical leadership and direction to accomplish the team mission of applying a network design process uniformly throughout J6 in the selection and procurement of data communication services.

Incumbent will lead other IT positions involved in the maintenance, modification, development, testing, management of IT projects and security systems.
