Job description

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

The position is located in the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD), Bureau of Prisons (BOP or Bureau). The mission of HRMD is to oversee the development, implementation and administration of Human Resource (HR) policy and programs to address the needs of Bureau employees covering all areas of HR management. The Branch Chief, People Relations & Employee Accountability, serves as the Bureau's executive responsible for national program direction, governance, policy leadership, regulatory compliance, and Bureau integration of all employee relations, workplace accountability, respectful workplace, administrative action, and performance management functions. The Branch Chief reports directly to the SES Senior Deputy Assistant Director for Human Capital Operations, and functions with wide latitude in determining program priorities, establishing national policy, and directing Bureau-wide initiatives.
