Housekeeping Aid Supervisor

This position is located within the Environmental Management Services (EMS) of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. The primary purpose of this position is to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers supporting and performing tasks associated with EMS goals and objectives. This position is located at the Tampa VA Hospital, and tours of duty may vary depending on the internal department needs with weekdays, weekends, day and evening shifts.

The position's responsibility is for assigning staff on a daily and a project-by-project basis. Works independently following up on all work assignments to ensure that established procedures, and safety standards are being properly applied. Duties Include: Responsible for maintaining assigned areas in an aseptically clean manner.

Must be able to proactively coordinate services with customers, provide feedback, and resolve problems to allow safe, and effect work performed in Environmental Management Services. Must develop, implement, evaluate improvements to the work processes. In addition to providing support, involvement in teamwork and team building. Must coordinate with the Environmental Management Service Chief and Supervisors in addition to other services with the Medical Center.

Must establish deadlines and priorities based on general work schedules, methods, and procedures of the team. Must determine proper safety methods, materials, personnel requirements, and time estimates necessary to ensure that cleaning and sanitation standards are met. Must provide on-the-job training on cleaning methods to all staff/employees.

May be required to acts in the absence of higher-level management within EMS. Work Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm; 12:00pm- 8:30pm; 3:30pm -12:00am-8:00am (Which also includes weekdays, weekends, holidays.
