Job description

You will serve as a Engineering Technician (Civil). These positions are located in the Bureau of Land Management, Wyoming District Offices located in Casper, Rock Springs, and Worland, Wyoming. Pay will vary based on grade level and/or duty location for which you're selected.

First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

Prepare original drawings and preliminary layouts, as well as updates and revisions to drawings, including final as-built drawings. Install, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, operate, and maintain instrumentation and equipment associated with engineering and architecture projects and activities, including scientific data collection. Conduct inspections and assessments that involve a wide variety of test and inspection techniques.

Draft technical documentation for assigned technical engineering work assignments and reviews documentation of lower graded technicians. Monitor project plans that outline the scope, schedule, and/or budget of assigned projects. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Salary Ranges for Rock Springs and Worland, Wyoming: GS-07: $50,460- $65,599 GS-08: $55,882 - $72,644 GS-09: $61,722 - $80,243 Salary Ranges for Casper, Wyoming: GS-07: $58,193 - $75,653 GS-08: $64,446 - $83,777 GS-09: $71,181 - $92,541
