Creative Arts Therapist

About the Position: This position is located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Create a supportive environment in which to facilitate self-expression, group interaction and progress towards functional goals.

Provide outlets for suppressed feelings to channel energy and emotional stress into constructive means of communication.

Perform diagnostic evaluations to assess patients' strengths and problem areas.

Develop and implement a therapeutic treatment plan for patients by integrative creative arts therapy with current treatments provided by other disciplines within the clinic.

Apply professional psychological and art therapeutic principles.

Adapt or modify treatment procedures and employ new approaches and techniques where objectives are difficult to achieve due to the complexity and severity of a patient's mental and medical condition.

Provide clinical and administrative oversight for all creative arts therapy staff.

Document progress and planning and implementing termination sessions and termination summaries.
